- Self-contained, reducing the risk of contamination and consequent false positives
- Inoculated with Geobacillus stearothermophilus bacterial spores and contains defined media within the vial cap
- Vial cap label features process indicator for hydrogen peroxide, which provides immediate confirmation of processing after sterilization cycle
- Activated via twist-and-flick motion and does not require a separate activator
- Upon activation, BI is incubated using Celerity HP incubator (sold separately); negative response provided by the incubator within 20 minutes indicates an acceptable sterilization process
